In February 2025, I embarked on a new learning journey by attending the ISO 9001:2015 Internal Audit Training to become an internal auditor for Assunta Hospital.
This opportunity came when my boss nominated me for the course. I’m grateful for the trust. According to my colleagues, it has been quite some time since anyone from the Marketing department stepped into the internal audit space, so this made the experience even more meaningful.
Post-training, I was assigned as an auditor trainee, a hands-on experience where I evaluated two departments. Before the audit, I had to thoroughly study process flows, SOPs and prepare for in-depth questioning. The audit day itself tested our skills in probing, listening and identifying gaps. After that, came the report writing, team discussions and presenting our findings.
Despite my primary role as a Senior Digital Marketing Executive, this experience taught me so much on process thinking, compliance and soft skills like communication, objectivity and attention to detail.
Grateful to my lead auditor and team for the guidance, and happy to know my performance met expectations. According to my lead auditor, I’ll most likely take on the full auditor role next year, no longer a trainee.
Always a student, always growing.
